ERHS Is Now On Facebook!

Want to know what’s going on at Elk Regional Health System? Wonder about that new doctor you’ve been hearing about? Wonder what’s going to be in that new building the hospital just built? Want to know when ERHS purchases new equipment or makes available a new service?

Now you can have answers to all those questions - and more. ERHS has established a Facebook page that will become an integral part of ERHS’s Web presence and a new way in which ERHS officials will communicate with its patients and the community at large.

“Social media has a firm foothold on the Internet,” said Greg Bauer, the health system’s president and CEO. “It has dramatically changed the ways in which people communicate with each other. We believe it’s important for our community to understand what’s happening at Elk Regional – and our new Facebook page is one major way in which we’re making information available to the people we serve.”

To view Elk Regional’s Facebook profile, visit Facebook, log into your personal account and search for “Elk Regional Health System” using the search bar at the top of the page. By clicking the “like” button on ERHS’s profile, users will become “fans” of ERHS and will receive ERHS news updates on their Wall.

Users who do not have Facebook accounts can view ERHS’s profile by clicking here. Those users can then bookmark the Web page and revisit it.

ERHS’s Facebook profile will be frequently updated with health system news, pictures and videos.

“There are a lot of exciting things happening here at ERHS,” Bauer said. “We’re in the middle of constructing a new renal dialysis facility. We’re continually recruiting new physicians and opening offices throughout our service area. We feel it’s important to share information about these initiatives with the people we serve in as many ways as is possible.”

ERHS’s official Web site is also undergoing a dramatic update, Bauer said. The new Web site, which is expected to be live soon, will make health system information and news updates available in a more user-friendly format.
